Manchester renamed Manc-hatten in the land of the giants

The Manchester skyline is really changing in the city that was my home for over three decades. Gigantic luxury skyscrapers have taken route at the southern end of Deansgate.

A clever wag dubbed area Manc-hatten.  I pinched that for Grief City Blues, a crime novel that is currently going through a ruthless editing shakedown.

In the book, I also borrowed (and credited) Ian Brown’s famous line about Manchester having everything apart from a beach.
