Views: Clash City Guitar Heroes

The Clash were probably the most important UK music force of the late seventies and early eighties. Brilliant tunes and lyrics, image and attitude. Bought London Calling and Pink Floyd’s the Wall on the same day. Only one double album (London) has stood the test of time. The Big G (aka the Guardian) celebrates the Clash, ranking their 40 greatest songs. Anyone of a dozen could have taken the number one spot. They were that good. Only Mott, Skynyrd and sixties/seventies Stins came close. Here is a sample from the Big G’s top 40 …. “you’re my guitar hero…” is an epic aside.
